Student Responsibilities
- Students apply for and are selected for GenNET ITV classes by the home site counseling and administrative staff.
- Student selection is based on criteria established by the GenNET consortium that include responsibility, willingness to participate at a distance, motivation, and ability to meet the prerequisites for the class as established by the curriculum objectives for the GenNET ITV class.
- Each GenNET ITV participant signs a Student Contract (page 13 of handbook) that outlines the expectations as an active participant in a GenNET ITV class.
It is the responsibility of each student to:
- Adhere to the established expectations and participate actively and positively.
- Attend class daily.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with ITV teacher.
- Coordinate with the GenNET ITV teacher when absent from class to make up any missed work.
- Represent their school and classmates at their home site with highest respect and pride.
- Respect and collaborate with remote site student participants and staff.

Parent Responsibilities
- Parents are invited to participate at any time in their student’s GenNET ITV class to experience learning at a distance.
- Contact with the GenNET ITV teacher is advised and invited on a regular basis.
- Parent/Teacher conferences can be facilitated via telephone conferences, face to face interaction via the GenNET system, email, school mail, on-site visitation, or any other agreed upon mode of communication.
- Names and school telephone numbers are supplied in the handbook (page 14) for your convenience.
- Additional information will be shared individually by GenNET ITV teachers to GenNET ITV students.

Teacher Responsibilities
GenNET ITV teachers are:
- Trained to deliver a quality program of instruction at a distance.
- Chosen to teach at a distance by their home school administrative staff based on their enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise in the curricular area, and willingness to offer new opportunities for students beyond their home school environment.
GenNET ITV teachers are expected to:
- Supply clear and concise communication to students for grading, attendance, course work expectations, as well as coordinate all communications with the home school administrative staff and parents to ensure a successful GenNET ITV experience for all involved.
- Work closely with all GenNET ITV teachers in the county and the GenNET office to provide a successful interactive learning experience for GenNET ITV participants.
